Flood: APC, PDP Set Separate IDP Camps In Ughelli North

The two rival political parties in Ughelli North Local Government Area, All Progressives Congress, APC and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP have set up two separate Internally Displaced Persons Camp to alleviate the suffering of the people displaced by the ravaging flood.

 

The IDP camps were set at Mariere Primary and Uwheru Grammar Schools respectively, it was learned by this medium.

According to a source from Uwheru Grammar School IDP camp, “Following the intervention of Hon. Stella Eruvwuoghene Okotete, Executive Director, Business Development, Nigerian Export-Import (NEXIM) Bank, victims of the flood disaster in Uwheru Kingdom have begun settling in the camp for Internally Displaced Persons opened today at Uwheru Grammar School, in Uwheru, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

Also, a chieftain of the APC from Uwheru, Mr Evwioghono Onefeghare said, “As far as this flood s concern, our people have not benefited anything from the PDP government and we cannot allow them to die before help will come.

 

“I am grateful for the timely intervention of our party the APC, we will reciprocate this gesture in no distant time.”

From Mariere IDP camp, “The Executive Chairman, Ughelli North Local Government Area, Hon Chief Godwin Adode (JP) is in Mariere Primary School, Evwreni to prepare the IDP CAMP for the flood victims.

The flood victims are already moving down to Mariere Primary School as accreditation is ongoing.
